Maintenance Treatment

My clients are also dog owners, and include people who work and show their animals, as well as pet owners.

Used as part of their normal health care routine, McTimoney Animal Manipulation helps to keep dogs active and healthy, especially in their senior years.

McTimoney picks up minor musculoskeletal problems early on and improves your dog’s flexibility and suppleness.

It’s ideal for working dogs, such as gundogs, racing, search and rescue, guide and police dogs, as well as those involved in obedience events. Their bodies undergo a lot of physical activity and repetitive strain and a McTimoney treatment will pick up subtle problems and enable the dog to continue to work at their best.

I would recommend that your dog has a routine check-up every six months, and this particularly beneficial for very active dogs or during periods of heavy work.

Remedial Treatment following injury or a change in behaviour

McTimoney Animal Manipulation can be used to rehabilitate dogs with a range of acute or long-term problems.  These include:

  • Increased stiffness in the morning or following exercise.
  • Signs that they are uncomfortable when being stroked on their back.
  • A change in behaviour towards other dogs or people, in or out of the home.
  • Crying out when getting up.
  • Difficulty getting in and out of the car or climbing stairs.
  • A history of underlying problems such as joint degeneration, arthritic changes or lameness.
  • A loss of performance in working or competing dogs.
